I am a Philosopher of Technology working as a Lecturer in Philosophy and Ethics of Technology at the Philosophy Department of the University of Twente.
Over the past few years, I have successfully developed and coordinated several interdisciplinary projects, integrating Design Ethics, Challenge Based Learning, and the Capability Approach. These initiatives have allowed me to bridge various domains, fostering innovative educational experiences to explore and rethink complex socio-technical challenges. Currently, I serve as a Learning Experience Designer for the new minor in 'Environmental Values and Sustainable Transformations' at the Philosophy and KITES program. This role enables me to further my commitment to sustainability and ethical engineering education, shaping curricula that inspire students to engage deeply with environmental challenges and transformative practices.
My research and teaching activities lie at the intersection of Human-Technology-Environment Relations, Postphenomenology, Capability Approach, Ecological-Enactive Cognitive Science, Design Ethics, Future Studies, Pragmatism, and Challenge Based Learning.

Monuments for Future M/otherhood
Dutch Design Week 2022
Imagine, it’s the year 2050 and artificial wombs are able to carry full-term pregnancies. People born from this will receive an invitation on their eighteenth birthday to visit a monument that exhibits part of the artificial womb.
Many people report that they feel a strong connection to and have memories of the artificial wombs in which they grew. A visit to the monument therefore marks an important life event. Womb monuments give these people a place to return to. They forge a meaningful connection with the machines that gave them life.
With this speculative experience, we want to spark new ideas about future reproductive scenarios and family ties. Can we think beyond the current family tree? And how do we experience new forms of kinship and the sense of being part of something bigger than ourselves?

Margoth's Assessment in Environmental Values - Alternative Assessment in the EVST Minor
Margoth joined the EVST team as a Learning Experience Designer and proposed a diverse range of assessment methods that extend beyond traditional essays. This innovative approach encourages students to explore various skills, step out of their comfort zones, and ultimately produce different forms of media as evidence of their learning journey. Margoth believes that education should prepare students to tackle the complex, global issues we face. In an era of declining student enrollments and growing skepticism about the relevance of degrees, such innovative assessments could be pivotal in engaging students and showcasing the true value of their education.
