Marten van Sinderen is associate professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) of the University of Twente. He currently chairs the Services & CyberSecurity (SCS) group in EEMCS. His professional interests are design methods and architectures for networked information systems, especially addressing semantic interoperability and context-aware service provisioning. He is responsible for the master course Architecture of Information Systems and the bachelor module Web Science, and for the Design Science Methodology part in the master course Empirical and Design Science Research. He previously contributed to, among others, the bachelor module Business Intelligence and Information Technology and the master course Service Oriented Architecture and Web Services.

He participated in many European and Dutch research projects, as manager, researcher, evaluator and reviewer. He organized many scientific events and is currently conference chair of the International Conference on e-Business (ICE-B)  and program chair of the International Conference on Software Technologies (ICSOFT). He is a former conference chair and steering committee chair of the EDOC Enterprise Computing Conference.

He is currently vice chair of the IFIP Working Group 5.8 on Enterprise Interoperability. He is editorial board member of Enterprise Information Systems (Taylor & Francis), Future Internet (MDPI), and Journal of Industrial Information Integration (Elsevier).
