Muzammil Khan is a postdoc researcher under the guidance of Dr. Françoise Siepel at the Faculty of EEMCS, University of Twente. Prior to this, he was a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Mathematics, Bioinformatics, and Computer Applications at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology Bhopal, India. His broad research area encompasses calculus of variations, fractional order derivatives, modern computer vision, and machine learning. In particular, he explored the topic of Optical Flow in his thesis titled “Novel Algorithms for Optical Flow Estimation and Its Application”. In his work, he developed mathematical models for accurate optical flow estimation and further utilized them with deep learning techniques to perform anomaly detection in image sequences. During his Ph.D., he wrote 7 journal articles, 11 international conferences, and 1 book chapter. He presented his research in 8 international conferences. He achieved the Computer Vision and Image Processing Best Paper Award from ICCVIP-2022. He twice received the Fellowship for the Training of Young Scientists from MPCST, India. He also earned 1st prize in M.P. Ph.D. Colloquium 2022 for best synopsis presentation from AIGGPA, India.
