Studied Medicine at the Radboud University Nijmegen, followed by training in general surgery with the specialization of vascular surgery. Joined the Rijnstate Hospital, Arnhem in 2007 as staff vascular surgeon. Was course director for surgical residents from 2009-2017. Joined the M3I group of the Faculty of Science and Technology in September 2018.
