Mohammad Sadrani is an assistant professor in the Transport Studies Group at the University of Twente. He received his Ph.D. in transportation engineering from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2024. Prior to joining Twente, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the chair of railway operations at TU Dresden, Germany. He also has lectured on several courses in Germany (at TUM and TU Dresden) and has also served as a guest lecturer at TUM Asia in Singapore.
His research focuses on the planning and optimization of public transport and railway systems using operations research and optimization-based methods, with particular interest in emerging technologies (such as automation and electrification). Moreover, he is interested in resilience concepts and disruption management in transport planning.
In his recent research, Mohammad also works on multimodal transport solutions in urban and rural areas, such as integrated passenger-parcel transport through shared fleets and infrastructure, as well as air-ground cooperation (e.g., drone delivery services) to support urban parcel logistics.
