Mohammad (Nima) is currently a PhD candidate in the Inorganic Materials Science (IMS) department at the University of Twente. He completed his bachelorā€™s degree in Electronics Engineering and his masterā€™s degree in Micro and Nano Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) Engineering. Previously he had experiences fabricating nanopositioning stages for AFM/STM applications and amperometricĀ gas sensors.
His current research focuses on fabricating high-performance piezoelectric-based MEMS mass sensors, with an emphasis on optimizing mass sensitivity and quality factor. Together with other partners in his consortium, he aims to implement affinity layers on these sensors for the early detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in poultry farms.
