Marco Schutten is an Associate Professor within the department Industrial Engineering and Business Information Systems at the University of Twente, the Netherlands. Moreover, he is the Programme Director for the bachelor and master programmes Industrial Engineering and Management. He holds an MSc in Applied Mathematics (1992) and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Twente (1996). His research interests include planning and scheduling in transportation, project, and production environments, with a particular interest in synchromodal freight transportation, urban logistics, and crowd-based transportation.
