Nikita Dhavale is an EngD candidate in Civil Engineering and Management at the University of Twente, under the NWO-funded PACER project. Her research focuses on circular construction, urban mining, and digital tools that support the reuse of building materials in architectural design processes. With a background in Architecture and a Master’s in Sustainable Cities from the Norman Foster Institute, she works at the intersection of design, engineering, and sustainability to help shape more circular, adaptive, and resource-efficient built environments.

PACER (Work Packages 2 & 3)

(Collaborative, Digitalized and Integral Processes to Achieve Circular and Emission-Free Renovation)

The PACER project develops collaborative, digitized and integral processes to enable circular and emission-free renovation practices. Nikita Dhavale is the EngD candidate involved in Work Packages 2 and 3 of PACER, focusing on renovation design strategies, standardisation opportunities, and digital tools that connect reclaimed building materials with early-stage design processes. Her work explores how urban mining can be integrated into practical decision-making workflows for architects and project stakeholders.
