As Impact Development Manager – Digital & Defense at SBD, I focus on strengthening the University of Twente’s strategic position in the Defence & Security domain, both nationally and across Europe.
My work connects the external world (partners, funding, networks) with our internal strengths (research, faculties, expertise). Concretely, this means:
- Proposition building – working with researchers and faculties to translate UT’s expertise into clear, recognizable propositions for government, industry, and EU programmes.
- Cross-faculty collaboration – linking research groups across faculties so UT can present a strong, integrated profile in consortia and alliances.
- Strategic partnerships – developing long-term relations with government, industry, and knowledge institutions to ensure UT is visible and credible in the Defence & Security ecosystem.
- Funding & innovation pathways – connecting research to Dutch and European instruments (HTSM, MINDEF, RVO, EDF), with a special focus on unmanned systems, sensors, AI, and dual-use applications.
Together with researchers, I work on building bridges between research and application, ensuring that UT is recognized and chosen as a leading partner in future Defence & Security solutions.
