Olga Wessels is the Head of Brusselsā Office of the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU). The University of Twente is the founding partner of ECIU. In this position, Wessels contributes to setting the agenda of ECIU at the European level, increasing the organisationās visibility as a potential and reliable partner for European institutions in debates on policy and programme developments. Wessels obtains information at an early stage to help ECIU member universities prepare for upcoming programmes. Wessels ensures coordination of ECIU replies to requests for advice and consultancy. Wessels has close collaboration EU Liaison Officers of every ECIU member institution.
Wessels also coordinates FOREU4ALL, bringing together all 65 European University alliances in a cohesive structure to foster collaboration and share best practices.
Before joining ECIU, Wessels represented the Dutch universities in Brussels, focussing on higher education and Open Science policies, and worked for the Dutch National Studentsā Union (LSVb), focusing on flexible education and quality assurance.
