Pirouz is a computational mathematician and a generative systems technologistĀ who is actively researching the utilization of simulation-driven complexity sciences (generative sciences), digital twinning, computational [architectural] design, and computational urban planning and mathematical policy analysis to contribute to sustainable urban development, especially in areas with perplexing questions of decision analysis and ambiguous trade-offs. He is developing mathematical, computational, and gamified methods for augmented spatialĀ planning, computational urban design, and participatory housing development.Ā
Pirouz is especially focused on two types of R&D endeavours:
- Spatial Planning Support Systems (SPSS) for Strategic Planning, i.e. multi-actor and multi-criteria decision problems on the design of spatial configurationsĀ
- Spatial Decision Support Systems (SDSS) for Operational Planning, i.e. spatial optimization problems related to the utilization and operation within spatial networks and spatial systems
Gamification, Game Theory, Serious Gaming, and Cyber-Physical Games are frequent themes in Pirouz's recent scholarly work.
