Ruth Sloot is a Filipino-Dutch born in Quezon City, Philippines. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, she moved to The Netherlands to follow the Civil Engineering and Management master's program at the University of Twente, Enschede. Following the completion of her master’s degree, she decided to stay in The Netherlands to pursue an Engineering Doctorate at the same university. During this time, she became acquainted with the complexities of transforming the incumbent information technology in project-based infrastructure organizations. She also developed a keen interest in conducting research in close interaction with practice. After briefly working as an information management consultant in the infrastructure sector, Ruth returned to academia to dive deeper into these challenges through her doctoral research. She remains committed to advancing knowledge on this topic in her new role as assistant professor at the University of Twente. Ruth also serves as program coordinator at Next Generation Infrastructures (NGinfra).
