About Me

My name is Roy van Zijl (1998, the Netherlands) and I'm a researcher in the Systems Engineering and Multidisciplinary Design group, in collaboration with the DesignLab. I started my Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering here at the University of Twente back in 2015, and acquired my Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Design Engineering) in 2021.

My current research/design focuses on the multidisciplinary facets of technological advancements in the aviation industry. Furthermore, I'm finishing my Engineering Doctorate degree in which I focus on the implementation of technological advancements into the cleaning branch. This involves a combination of electric vehicle design, robotic arms and operations and human machine interactions. My overall goal is to use high tech engineering in such a way that it can positively influence and ease the lives of many people.
