Dr. Salih Çevikarslan received his BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Middle East Technical University and his MA degree in Economics at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). After working for three years as a research assistant at ITU, he joined UNU-MERIT PhD programme and was appointed as a teaching assistant (AiO) at the School of Business and Economics, Maastricht University. He worked as a senior lecturer in Economics at Erasmus University College and a post-doc researcher at the University of Twente. He is currently an assistant  professor at the Department of Design, Production and Management of the University of Twente.

Organisations

Dr. Salih Çevikarslan is an economist interested in innovation and technological change  and their relation to economic development. He also conducts research on subjects such as energy transition, circular economy, industrial dynamics, R&D processes and innovation strategies.  In his research he uses both data-driven statistical methods and computational modeling. With regard to the latter, he has mainly developed agent-based models from an evolutionary economics perspective.
