I am a philosopher of science focused on the philosophy of health sciences and social epistemology. In particular, I’m interested in how epistemic and non-epistemic (e.g., social and institutional) factors intertwine in the production of knowledge. I have worked on topics such as commercialization of research, standards of evidence in nutrition science, and peer review. I am also interested in alcohol research and the influence of racial biases in health care and forensic medicine.

Before University of Twente, I have worked at the University of Jyväskylä, University of Johannesburg, Bielefeld University, Witten/Herdecke University, Ruhr University Bochum, and University of Bonn.
