About Me
Hello!
My name is Sandesh Prasad Itani, and I am from the Himalayan country of Nepal. I obtained my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University in Karnataka, India, in 2018.
Following my graduation, I worked as a maintenance/utility engineer for CG Brewery (Nepal) Pvt. Ltd. for two years. I participated in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree program in Tribology of Surfaces and Interfaces (TRIBOS+), facilitated by a consortium of four different universities across Europe—namely, the University of Leeds (UK), the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), the University of Coimbra (Portugal), and Luleå University of Technology (Sweden). This program was funded by the European Union. My master's project focused on the development of Mg-Zr sputtered coatings for biodegradable temporary bone implant applications, utilizing the DC magnetron sputtering technique.
Currently, I am engaged as an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) candidate, focusing on an elastomer development project for the load lock gate valve of the EUV lithography machine, which is in collaboration with the Elastomer Technology and Engineering Group (ETE) and the Surface Technology and Tribology (STT) at the University of Twente, alongside VDL ETG Technology and Development B.V., a renowned multinational company based in the Netherlands.
