Dr. S. Poojary is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Surgical Robotics Laboratory. Her current research focuses on advanced optical fiber-based sensing technologies for minimally invasive surgery, contributing to the development of intelligent and responsive robotic-assisted surgical systems.
She received her Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering in November 2025 from Manipal Institute of Technology, India.Ā Her doctoral research focused on biomedical image processing and computational modeling, where she applied machine learning and deep learning techniques for spinal surgery planning and vertebral analysis to improve precision in preoperative planning and pedicle screw placement.
She holds a Masterās degree in InstrumentationĀ andĀ Control Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, India, and a Bachelorās degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Her broader research interests include surgical robotics, medical image analysis, computational modeling, smart sensing technologies, and intelligent medical devices. She is passionate about integrating digital technologies, advanced sensing systems, and medical imaging to advance precision surgery and next-generation healthcare innovation.
