Sara's research interests and areas of expertise lie in socio-technical and sustainability transitions, inter- and transdisciplinary methodologies. She works at the University of Twente on the DECIDE project: Democratising AI: Empowering Citizens through Transparent Decision-Making.
Prior to joining the University of Twente, she completed a PhD at Radboud University, investigating the potential of technological and governance interventions to improve the sustainability of the plastics system from environmental, social and economic perspectives.
She has a background in energy engineering and management.
