Serra is a PhD candidate at the University of Twente. Her research is part of the DynamiCity project, “Smart Active Mobility to Improve Health and Wellbeing”, focusing on active and micro-mobility, multimodal integration, smart mobility, and the links between mobility, health and wellbeing.
She holds an MSc in Transport Engineering and a BSc in Civil Engineering with a minor in Urban and Regional Planning from Istanbul Technical University. Before starting her PhD, she worked as a transport engineer in Türkiye and the UK, contributing to sustainable mobility, active travel and transport planning projects across the public, private and non-profit sectors.
Her research interests include active mobility, sustainable transport, accessibility, transport planning, multimodal integration, travel behaviour, spatial analysis and inclusive mobility.
