Simone Fani is a Postdoctoral Researcher working on the SWAG European project, focusing on the developemnt of soft wearable assistiv e garments for human empowerment. He is working on the integration of HD-EMG decomposition algorithms, muskuloskeletal models (CEINMS-RT) and control algorithms for actuators and exoskeletons for rehabilitation.

Simone completed his Ph.D. in Information Engineering at Università di Pisa, in Pisa, in joint affilitation with the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT)x, Genova. During his Ph.D. he focused on the design and testing of advanced Human-Robot interaction interfaces based on haptic interaction. After the Ph.D. worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Research Center "E. Piaggio" of the Università di Pisa, continuing his research on haptics, followed by a postion at the Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ, USA) ad a Postdoctoral researcher first, and Research Assistant Professor for the last period, leading the activities of a NIH funded clinical study on upper limb prosthetics.

He holds a Bechelor's degree in Computer engineering (Automation curriculum) from the Università degli studi di Siena, and a Master's degree in Robotics and Automation Engineering from the Università di Pisa.
