Tamara is a guest PhD candidate at the Interaction Design group. She is also a teacher, instruments developer and researcher of the ‘Civic Interaction Design’ and ‘Digital Life’ research groups and the Digital Society School at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. Her research focuses on using smart toys and play to motivate children with disabilities to do physical therapy.
In addition, her interests include prototyping, makers culture, and the use of new technologies for creative applications.
Tamara studied Computer Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador. She later obtained an MSc in Media Technology from Leiden University. Before starting her PhD, she worked as a software developer, creative technologist and coach of students.
