Vartik Shandilya obtained his master's degree in Chemical Engineering with a specialisation in Materials Science and Technology from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. He is currently working as a doctoral candidate at the DBE group under the supervision of Prof. Marcel Karperien. In his PhD project, he aims at utilizing mechanically actuated organ-on-chip platforms to examine the effects of movement and loading on cartilage tissue in osteoarthritis-affected joints.
