Vaidyaa Panneer Selvam is a PhD candidate in Manufacturing Systems within the Department of Design Production and Management at the University of Twente . He completed his Master of Science in Sustainable Product Creation at the University of Luxembourg and holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University in India .

Before starting his doctoral journey, Vaidyaa worked as a mechanical design engineer in the aerospace sector, where he designed flight mechanisms, stage separation hardware, and precision assemblies . His practical engineering experience also spans microgravity fluid mechanics, where he built and tested automated fluid dispensing platforms during parabolic flight campaigns, along with experimental research on optimizing the machining and post processing of additive manufactured alloys .

At the University of Twente, his research within the ADD reAM project focuses on bringing additive manufacturing directly into circular factory systems . His day to day work involves digital factory modeling, discrete event simulations, automated scan to CAD triage workflows, and balancing resource efficiency in metal remanufacturing .
