About Me

I am associate professor at the University of Twente (UT) and adjunct visiting professor at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in the School of Chemistry and Materials Science, P.R. China.

I supervised 18 PhD projects and (co-)authored more than 170 scientific papers .

I am a fellow and board member of the European Ceramic Society, editor of the Journal of the European Ceramic Society and guest editor of the 2024-Open Ceramics Special Issue on "Novel Ceramic Membranes and their Applications"

Research

Design of inorganic membranes and study of microstructure and transport properties.

Important aspects are knowledge and control of the microstructure (on the nanometer scale) during fabrication, in order to obtain porous (hybrid) ceramic membranes and devices with special, unique, and reproducible properties.
